Ever since I was a young child I have always wanted to own my own business.
It probably stems from my dad always spewing out business ideas on long car rides to daycare or school. We almost started pizza delivery service on the lake (HA!).
I’ve known about Tech Talent South for a couple years now and even though I’m in the Startup Primer class and not in an actual coding class, I’ve never felt more comfortable being around techies like me and people who want to learn and grow personally and professionally.
After talking to CMO Melissa Nemec over coffee, I decided Startup Primer would be the best option for me to start at Tech Talent South. My problem with having all these ideas is that I don’t know HOW to start a business. I’ve had so many questions throughout the years and while Google is everyone’s best friend, having my instructor and guest speakers to talk to each week has helped immensely.
We’ve been learning about drafting up Business Model Canvases, talking with an accountant, lawyers, and practicing our elevator pitches. So far my favorite part is being in a class where we can all bounce ideas off each other without fear of negative criticism. I’m excited to go to class each week to learn more and it gets me extremely excited for the future of not only my business but everyone else’s.
